What Is a Presbyterian?

Question Presby2What is a Presbyterian?  At Wolf River Presbyterian Church we share many things in common with our brothers and sisters in other Bible believing Christian churches.  So what is the teaching of Scripture that obligates us to be self-consciously Presbyterian and Reformed in doctrine and Practice?

Over the next several weeks we will look at key high points of Presbyterianism, examining in the Sunday morning service (9:30am) several key Scripture texts from which we derive the distinctives of Presbyterianism.  We’ll begin on January 25 looking at the self-sufficiency of Scripture – that “it is to be received, because it is the Word of God.”  On following Sundays we will explore other key doctrines like the interpretation of Scripture, covenant theology, the place of the children of believers in the church, church government, and more.

If you’ve ever wondered if there is anything more to the teaching of Scripture than the “popular Bible culture” supplies; if you’ve always wondered what a Bible believing Presbyterian church believes; if you’re curious about Reformed theology; or if you long to hear truth preach right out of a text of Scripture, then join us – and see how the Lord blesses his word!
